Hi.

Jesse brought an interesting point up in a comment she made on my profile.
She said that she's been attempting to spark conversation amongst the natives, and has yet to have much success. I, personally, have had a few bites here and there, but not nearly as much as I'd imagined considering the type of 'social network' this is. There are 134 itchy people here. We need some action ya'll.

So.
An idea struck me, being that I'm a newbie here, and I am at a personal loss as to how to get to know you all at a pace faster than a snail going uphill in January.
As well as for all those other newbies I've seen join since my own recent birth into your community...

Perhaps an 'Introduce yourself here' thread / discussion would be a good start.
Whaddya say, Itchy ones? Care to know the mysteries behind your fellow itch'ers?

P.S. With the sky falling, and all the other good stuff happening in the world, I also thought it might be nice to think / post something slightly more 'fun' than those topics that have been so overwhelmingly noteworthy as of late.

mmmm photography is awesome! I got into photography for a while, took a few classes. I also took a photoshop group too and I did a neat photo of myself with six arms. it came out rather well.

I'm a single mom of 2 boys 16 (almost) and 12 (almost)
I am half owner of a tiny independent record label and when work is available, I tend bar.
I'm an artist and a musician, and have great respect for those in the audio/visual fields, as that's something I haven't yet attempted and am completely intimidated by :)
I, like Jesse, dabble in writing as well, although I would call myself no more than a novice really.
Jesse got skillz yo.

I'm an avid believer in seeking the truth and beauty in its many forms and doing whatsoever I can to enlighten as many as possible to those things.
I like not fitting into any group.
Legos and garlic make life truly worth it.
My kids are my biggest inspiration, my fountain of youth, and my best buddies...

I guess that about wraps me up.

...Hello, (she beings hesitantly.) my name is Jesse, (stating the obvious.) and I have a narrator, (she says, wondering how she's going to explain that one later to the men in white coats who will no doubt find that sort of behavior unusual.)

I do not have any kids...but I do live in a house with five other guys about my same age. Other people might find that sort of lifestyle unorthodox, but I believe that family has little to do with biology.

(She pauses for a second, wondering what details to disclose to the progressive network next.)

I'm an art school drop out. I'd prefer to be a beauty school drop out. It would come with a little bit more street cred. Or at least pink hair. I am a recovering illustration major. I'm going to pursue film next, hopefully with a little more enthusiasm. I want to do political documentaries, and other such films.
But I am a writer first. (Though perhaps not best, she notes.) I enjoy writing black box shows and film scripts, essays and short stories. I've directed black box shows in the past, and have done a little bit of acting as well.

Myself, my narrator, and my roommates like to think of ourselves as active progressives, whatever the phrase means. Together with the rest of our extended "family" we make up the social vigilantes. We're planning a big documentary next summer involving a road trip around the country.

(She draws a blank for anything else worthy of saying, reads it once over, and hits the "add reply" button.)

(he smiles quietly as he reads the post and his left ear twitches. extending a paw he clicks the reply button)
Supposedly.... I have to speak with you. Kat said so. You seem rather interesting. By the way you are a gifted writer, and yes your living situation seems unorthodox but in who's eyes? the general masses? the government? the man down the street with a fat wallet, three children, a depressed wife who is considering suicide because she can no longer satisfy her husband and hes sleeping with his best friends secretary because hes not being satisfied? (he can't sleep with his secretary, she threatened to tazer him) I don't think those people really matter. so my question for you is, what do you think? (he rereads his post a few times and pauses, "It seems a bit confusing but... do I really need to change it? mya." he sneezes and he sits in silence, the only sound in the room being the gently swish of his tail as it makes its way slowly back and forth. He makes that final click and waits for the interesting girls reply....)

Haha. Thanks for that. You replicate my style better than I can deliver it. Way to be awesome.

Now, in regards to your question, what do I think about what? I think a lot of things a lot of the time, so I'm afraid you'll have to specify. I look forward to giving a far more in depth answer, just as soon as I understand the question.

(She pauses to consider how to narrate the brief passage, but gives up as a lost cause.)

I just wanted to get to know the people behind the avatars a little better.
And as I mentioned to another newcomer (in yet another failed attempt at contact),
you could hear a flea fart with all the goings on in this place at any given moment.

But I completely respect the privacy of the Anon E. Mous.
