I'm thinking of throwing an election night party. Not that I have many friends in my new town, it'll probably be just me and the people that live with me.
But an awesome theme struck me, and I figure I should run with it. And share it with all of you.
I'm going to celebrate a day in which it's likely that more people turn out to vote than ever before with a zombie movie marathon. That's right, zombies are my chosen symbol for this election.
George Romero (an awesome guy who made some movies) has been accused of using the horror movie platform to showcase his views on the Cold War. Zombies, some alledge, symbolized godless commies in the movie Night of the Living Dead... the comparison isn't a stretch, nor is it's obvious opposite. Zombies do kinda' represent blind group cohesion, thoughtlessly following the crowd. What better, in a house of people with no party allegiance, to celebrate a night that will possibly show an unprecedented amount of people following the crowd and "picking the lesser of two evils"?
Besides, wouldn't you rather be scared of zombies for a night than the prospects of a McBama or OCain presidency?
