Obama? Bush? CHENEY?
3.15 Trillion?
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Listening to C-Span this morning just reinforced the fact that generally, Americans think in terms of partisanship for their political system.
This is so ingrained.
I rode this train, apprehensively, since I first voted. I changed after the 2004 election after having already been shaken to the core from the election of 2000.
In 1980, I almost voted for Anderson (third party candidate), and again in 1992 I almost voted for Perot. In 2008, I did vote for Nader.
Is our Partisan thinking beyond reproach?
In our depths of delusion… how can we expect truth to carry the day?
The American people thought they were voting for change with Obama. Alas, it is more of the same. Publicly, the media paints a distinctive difference between the two parties. However, the actual record of these two political parties are less obscure and distinctive.
So we looked again at ‘personal growth’...
Personal obsession is more apt in describing most folks. Drawing inward is likely the worst action mankind can take right now. There is too much on the line: Global Warning, Global financial melt down, wars, petulance, disease… DISEASE!
I have long ignored the inhumanity of mankind. In the turbulent 1960’s, the Jesus freaks made a mockery of the inner quests of the common person. They replaced it with a sacramental sense of foreboding doom while at the same time saying, “But he loves you!” (George Carlin 2005)
He implies Jesus but that is not my sense of him. There was a much stronger sense of Gnosis in God than what is interpretive in Christian thought today.
The challenge before humanity today is one of uniting or Unification if you will.
“Christ Consciousness” or the complete understanding of the energy that is the so-called God.
You know… the whole anti middle eastern perception in the US is a shame. Not that I like the public structure of the Middle East society because I don’t.
The Koran text is actually closer to a “truth” that I can swallow than most versions of biblical text.
But the Muslims often still do what the Christians do and have done since the mid evil Crusades (11c – 13c). The Christians had a tendency to reinterpret text as did the Muslims of the era reinterpret Jihad. It’s all the same literalism in a slightly different in context.
Literalism. I thought we got past that during the 1920’s Scopes trial when William Jennings Bryant got pummeled of the witness stand.

I was just reading an except from “The Power of Spiritual Healing” by Harry Edwards. My issue with this book and most of the religious or spiritual books is the same. These writings are usually based on the concept that “healing” is obtained whether or not the individual has faith.
Faith is a funny thing, as it is rather subjective.
Is faith always the belief that some intangible higher power rules the energy of the day? Does this only connect to religious precariousness? Are we really just the puppets on strings as so often dictated in fictional and not fictional stories?
I tell you YES... but with a twist.
The twist connects to what defines the human experience. It also connects to the notion of free will that I hope some can redefine after reading this mamuscript.
In America (and likely many places on the globe), individuals live in a complacent frame of mind. We are fed convoluted political and economic ideals and like herds of cattle. We blindly follow it because most of us don’t know enough of the detail to make an educated decision or introspective evaluation of the varying postulates we are presented with.
Edward R. Murrow was one of the last major commercial figures who had an ethical back ground believing that individuals have the capacity to actually think about the real issues of the day. So often anymore, Hollywood script writers lack the schematic conception to allow their readers to ruminate and speculate about varying outcomes of events of our times. Their storybook endings tend to “fix” it. The dictated complacency leads the people to easier, yet often turbulent waters in an effort to keep the internal fears flowing.
Fears alter our ability to think clearly; to make decisions and to envision points of resolve that are different than what might come naturally.
So with the former in mind, one can see why people choose not to think for themselves. This is especially true as we look at the daily routines of our lives. WE are just too busy!
So faith is another bastardized word. For me, faith is an internalized conviction. Any person going to a healing seminar must have a small amount of belief, at least, poignant skepticism or they wouldn’t go to the seminar. The people who never left the hospital bed, but came out apparently healed has many influences in their lives that we are not aware of.
But I am not hoping to debunk spirituality & healing. My objective is QUITE the opposite. I want people to think again. Believe it or not, THINKING will lead to healing and could lead to societal transformation.
But it’s up to you.
You see our planet is dying a faster death than we once though. Ethics (individual & corporate) have gone down the drain as we fill ourselves with sports games, rock & roll shows, disco trance-beat, Hollywood movie extravaganzas, DaVince Code, aimless documentaries, etc.
We watch them and if it tells a story pertaining to events occurring today, there is a internalized rhetoric that seem to twist the issue to a point of resolve therefore requiring no more action.
This has been going on since the forever! What is up with that!!!!!
Since the last free philosophical thinking period (1946 to around 1967), the business and government enterprises have been able to manipulate our psyches. This is through a slow commercialized embrace of the ideals we once thought of as radical and progressive. People, the ideals have just been bastardized. You, me, and the rest of us feed into this complacency as evidenced by our actions.
And trance-beat!
What is our “actions”? It is our inaction! Please... WAKE UP. The world is not a pretty place anymore... BZ
