Because of school I'm too busy to spend much time blogging/discussing on the internet. Anyone who wants to keep up with me should follow me on twitter @ www.twitter.com/vegan_Mer I still want to participate here I just don't have much free time right now. Trying to get ahead in a male-dominated industry while simultaneously being a single mom can take a lot out of a girl. Continue

Taxation Without Representation

Now that the $700,000,000,000 bailout plan has been passed by the House of Representatives and signed into law, we are find ourselves feeling the same plight which was felt by our forefathers who lived here in 13 colonies under King George III: taxation without representation. It looks like we're now living in 50 colonies under King George IV. Our so called representatives ignored our outrage and passed a bill (without public hearings) handing over $700,000,000,000 of our tax money. Does that so… Continue

A Little Help, Please?

After watching Matt Gonzalez's reply to the VP debate on youtube, I saw in the comments section a great suggestion: bombard journalists (esp. PBS and other likely outlets) with messages asking for Ralph Nader and Matt Gonzalez to be invited as guests or interviewed. This particular person had started a crusade to get them on PBS with Bill Moyers, so I joined in and went to http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/about/feedback.html where I used the form to send a polite message asking for him to invit… Continue

Reply to my Local DFA's email in support of the bailout

I wholeheartedly disagree with your support of the bailout. For once I am PROUD of my congressman for voting against it and will continue to thank him and request he vote against new versions of the bailout plan. My reasons for being outraged over this obscene display of the hold corporations have on our government may be different but a vote against it is a vote against it. If you haven't already, I suggest going to www.votenader.org to read about Ralph Nader's suggestions for handling the situ… Continue

Ways the VP "Debate" could have been improved upon

1. Make Bruce Campbell the moderator 2. Every time Joe Biden makes up some average “Joe” to use in an example, announce that person as a special guest and send an actor out on stage 3. Censor the words “change” and “maverick” without any explanation to the viewers; it would make things sound so much more interesting! 4. Change the format to Russian roulette; every time a question is evaded, the moderator spins the barrel and points at the non-answering candidate for one shot 5. select one qu… Continue

A Discussion of Nader and McCain (or, why Nader is a way more logical choice for voters)

Other Internet Message Board User: "I would love to know why you think a man who has never held a political office is more qualified to hold the most prestigious and important one in the country than two people with records of public service. you want to talk about lack of experience? look at Ralph Nader." "edit: and he's older than John McCain." MY REPLY.... Let me ask you a hypothetical question, and please try to answer objectively. Suppose that you are on the board of directors of a compa… Continue
